(Video) Identitarian evening in Ljubljana with Martin Sellner

In mid-April, in the capital of our country, the homeland of a small but old and sturdy nation lying beneath the mighty Alpine peaks, an Identitarian evening was held with Martin Sellner from neighbouring Austria. Sellner is well known as one of the representatives of the pan-European Identitarian movement. The event was attended by several patriots and advocates of the Identitarian worldview from Ljubljana and other parts of Slovenia.

Martin Sellner is one of the founders of the Austrian Generation Identity, an author and activist. He is a man of thought and action, of pen and street, a herald of the European awakening and a metapolitical warrior for the preservation of the biocultural integrity of the old continent. For many years, he has been at the forefront of the civilisational cultural struggle for our common homeland, Europe, the former Queen of the continents, which has become hostage to the interests of globalist elites. Sellner calls for the repatriation of foreigners who have washed up on her shores by stormy seas or who have crept across her borders in the dark nights with the blessing of traitors and cosmopolitan demagogues who have dug their claws deep into the ancient soil of our homelands. At the same time, he encourages his European compatriots to join the Identitarian struggle for the liberation and return of the Europe of Europeans to her ancient throne, forged from traditions, triumphs and blood of her peoples.

The guest from our northern neighbour discussed many otherwise serious issues in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere of camaraderie between those who not only share similar beliefs, but also a commitment to common goals and rootedness in their ethnocultural heritage. The discussion was moderated by Andrej Sekulović, who first asked Sellner about the essence of Identitarianism. What does it mean to be an Identitarian, and how does it differ from just being a nationalist? Sellner described Identitarianism very eloquently as something that is both future-oriented and ancient. An Identitarian is someone who preserves and defends his ethnocultural identity. It is a struggle that goes back to the distant days of the ancient world, when the Spartans fought valiantly against the Persian hordes at Thermopylae, and continues through the Middle Ages to the present day, as patriots fight against those who are at the helm of the destructive machine of liberalism. Sellner also pointed out that Identitarianism encompasses different levels of identity and unites them into a complete whole; as he said, he is at the same time Viennese, Austrian and European. Thus, Identitarianism can include regional, national and civilisational identities, the foundation of all three being ethno-cultural heritage.

The Viennese guest also talked about the main strategy of the Identitarians, metapolitics. The latter focuses on social norms, values and culture, and seeks to create the conditions for radical socio-political change by influencing these basic pillars of society. Sellner shared his experience in metapolitical activism and offered concrete advice on how to build an effective Identitarian movement. Then the discussion turned to the current situation in Vienna, which is rather dark. In the former capital of the empire, certain areas are now dominated by foreigners. In the city that once heroically defended itself against the scimitar and the crescent, there are now some three hundred Muslim kindergartens, and Muslims are the largest religious group among primary school children. The consequences of the great demographic replacement are also evident in the fact that, in the municipal elections that took place during Sellner’s visit to Slovenia, one of the candidates was a representative of an Islamist party, a Palestinian woman, her head wraped in a scarf as she smiled to her potential voters from her campaing posters.

»You have not been Islamised yet only because it was our turn first«, Sellner warned the audience. He further explained his point with a metaphor of a burning house: Austria was on the first floor, and Slovenia is on the second floor. And as we know, the flames have been slowly reaching the second floor in recent years. But Martin Sellner has no intention of accepting such a fate. He firmly believes that good will prevail in the end, and that the goddess of victory will ultimately grant her gifts to the Europe of Europeans. He warns that we must not give in and that we must never surrender our cities to the foreign masses. Furthermore, he highlighted that the support for the political right and for the parties that openly support remigration is growing. At the same time, the task of the metapolitical right is to keep breaking the taboos of political correctness and pushing the Overton window further to the right. For Sellner, European cooperation is also of the utmost importance. As he pointed out, when Generation Identity was founded in France, the symbol of the new movement became the Spartan Lambda – a logo with which all European patriots can identify. Today, he said, European cooperation is essential in the fight against the globalists in Brussels.

There were many other issues that Sellner and Sekulović touched upon, and toward the end of the event, the members of the audience joined in with their questions and comments. Sellner also briefly mentioned the French and European New Right, and the ideas of Guillaume Faye and Dominique Venner,  as the cornerstone of the Identitarian worldview. Additionally, he also recommended to the audience to read and study books and texts written by left-wing revolutionaries and activists, as such works can offer good strategic advice for achieving social change.  Moreover, he explained that when we are planning actions or creating new content, we should focus on what will attract new supporters, instead of just focusing on what looks most pleasing to our own eyes and minds. Then he went on to elaborate on the concept of remigration and devoted a few words to his two books, Remigration: A Proposal and Regime Change From The Right, which are being translated into English. He also summarised the identitarian concept of rootedness, which he described as the awareness that we are thousands of years old when we look back into the past, and that the past in which our ancestors lived extends through us into the future, as the branches of a tree extend towards the sky.

In April, an Identitarian evening was held in Ljubljana with Martin Sellner, who is considered one of the most prominent representatives of the pan-European identitarian movement. After the main event, the meeting continued with further conversations and exchanges of ideas. The next morning, Martin visited the city centre and the old town of Ljubljana with his hosts before heading back to Vienna. His visit to the Slovenian capital and the event itself marked the beginning of a new chapter within the Slovenian Identitarian movement, and undoubtedly strengthened the ties of further cooperation and friendship between patriots and Identitarians of Austria and Slovenia.
